What are Dignity Boards?

Dignity Boards are A0 size advertising boards, displayed alongside busy streets, conveying an advertiser’s message.

How and when are they displayed?

The Dignity Boards are displayed alongside roads and at intersections during peak traffic hours. Posters are displayed on both sides and the boards are turned periodically to show off various angles and ensure maximum exposure to traffic from all directions. Various peak hour display options are available, refer to Advertising Info for more detail. An advertiser may however request different time slots with a maximum of 2 x 2hour shifts per day and a minimum of 30 minutes break in-between shifts.

Will the posters be visible from the road?

The poster/advertisement is printed on coated paper and inserted into a rigid aluminum frame with non-glare transparent film. The lightweight aluminum display frame is mounted on aluminum poles. The poles extend so that the poster is displayed 1.8 meters from the ground – high enough to be visible. The non-reflective transparent film ensures that there is no glare. It is advisable to place the Dignity Boards at least 5 meters apart alongside the road so as to ensure that passers by have enough time to read the content.

How will I know that all the boards are displayed at all the intersections and at the correct times?

Dignity Boards agents are trained and supervised to deliver a professional service that will ensure positive brand awareness for Dignity Boards as well as its advertisers. Supervisors keep an attendance register signed by every Dignity Board Agent employed for the day. They also take photographs which they submit on a daily basis. These can be viewed on request. Every team is led by a captain (their leader) and up to 8 teams report to a supervisor. The supervisor does periodic checks to ensure that the boards are displayed correctly.

Can I choose the dates and intersections?

The Dignity Boards are displayed in the geographical area of the advertiser’s choice for a minimum of 3 days. Advertisers may request to have their billboards displayed on a specific street or intersection. Within 24 hours of the request our supervisors will confirm if the intersection or street is accessible, suitable and available.

Who is responsible for the design of the poster?

We have a design studio equipped with standard graphic design software. Our graphic designer is experienced in designing posters that are visible and attractive. Logo, pictures and content must be supplied by the advertiser. The poster design cost includes layout and design, initial proof, one set of authors’ corrections and a second proof. The advertiser may however supply their own designs in electronic format J-Peg 300dpi. Please note that the design must be done in A0 size.

Who supplies the posters?

Posters must be printed on coated 130gsm (or thicker) paper in A0 size 841 × 1189mm. We have an in-house printing facility suitable and cost-effective for printing up to approximately 50 posters. Larger quantities will be outsourced. Advertisers may supply posters. Please note that should you wish to supply posters, they must be delivered to the Dignity Boards Head Office at least 3 days before the first display date.

Can the posters be re-used or returned?

Poster can be re-used and are stored at our premises during times when they are not in use. Posters can also be returned to the advertiser.

How is the workforce recruited?

We have supervisors located in various geographical areas. The supervisors recruit jobless and homeless people in the vicinity where advertising boards are to be displayed. These jobs cannot be advertised in local newspapers or the internet as the people who are in need of these jobs do not have access to newspapers, telephones or internet.
